Hello and Welcome!
I'm Sarah, an experienced psychotherapist based in Shropshire. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for people navigating a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
These include Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD and other trauma-related challenges, social anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), low self-esteem, depression and low mood, phobias and lifestyle concerns such as weight loss and maintenance.
Reaching out for support and choosing a therapist can feel like a big step. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have, we can gently explore the areas you wish to focus on in therapy and whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
- I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT).
- Qualified EMDR Therapist
- I am trained in various Trauma-focused approaches including Trauma-Focused CBT, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing EMDR, Narrative Exposure Therapy NET and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
- I am experienced in delivering evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders and depression
- I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 15 years experience of working in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient and community mental health teams
- I provide clinical supervision to trainee and qualified therapists and receive regular supervision and ongoing professional development
Additional training:
In 2017 I trained at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Weight Management and Lifestyle Change.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

My standard rate is £70 per 50 minute session. I also offer concession rates which can be discussed during your initial introductory call. In person sessions are based in Shrewsbury Town centre.
