About me

Sometimes life brings challenges that feel too heavy to carry alone - whether it’s struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, the impact of traumatic or difficult life experiences, struggling with difficult emotions, navigating difficult life transitions, or a general sense of feeling overwhelmed or “stuck".

I’m an experienced HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with a background of over 10 years supporting adults through a wide range of mental and physical health challenges. I believe therapy is a deeply human process - one where meaningful change can happen when you are truly seen, heard, and accepted without judgment.

Sometimes you may have a diagnosis from a healthcare professional, but a diagnosis is never required to begin therapy with me.

I have experience supporting people with a wide range of difficulties that affect how you feel about yourself and your life, including those related to:

  • The impact of trauma or difficult life events experienced in childhood or adulthood
  • Self-criticism, low self-esteem, shame
  • Self confidence
  • Performance anxiety
  • Bereavement or loss
  • Life transitions (career change, parenthood, health changes)
  • Anxiety, panic, or worry
  • Low mood, depression, loss of motivation
  • Stress or burnout
  • Relationship challenges
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed

I see therapy as a safe, non-judgmental space to pause, reflect, and work through what feels difficult, in ways that feel meaningful and manageable for you. I believe in meeting you where you are, offering genuine compassion and respect throughout our work together. I bring a warm, authentic, down-to-earth approach where you can show up just as you are.

Therapy works best as a partnership to find what truly helps you to be supported in your growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I understand that looking for therapy can feel confusing as there are so many different types of therapy (and acronyms!) out there. It’s completely valid to take your time, ask questions, and make sure you find the right fit.

I know that one size doesn’t fit all, so my approach is evidence-based but always personalised. Everyone is unique, and so is the way we work together.

I’m trained in and draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) – uses guided eye movements to help your brain process and reduce the distress of traumatic or difficult memories.
  • CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy) – helps you develop self-kindness and reduce shame and self-criticism.
  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) – supports you to develop psychological flexibility, to clarify what’s important to you and take meaningful steps forward, even when life feels challenging.
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) – helps identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that are affecting your wellbeing.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
