About me
Although we usually associate grief with the death of a loved one, there are other endings that can feel significant to us. Relationship break-up, redundancy, retirement, moving home, ill-health, worries about getting older can also be profound losses. These can trigger similar feelings of grief and they force us into a changed personal world. They often uncover hurt, disappointment, anger and can lead to enhanced anxiety about the future. If such feelings are getting in the way for you, then I can help.
If you are going through the bereavement of a loved one, counselling can help you process your feelings. Sometimes grief can feel intolerable, causing intense emotional and physical pain. It may feel like a cloud of depression or a lingering sense of sadness or low mood. However you are experiencing your grief, you don't have to go through difficult times on your own.
It may be one particular issue that leads you to consider therapy, or you could be feeling stuck or confused around a number of issues. As a person-centred counsellor, I can support you in gaining clarity around your situation. Sharing your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and non-judgmental environment can help you unburden yourself. Reaching out for support is the first step.
I work from my counselling studio in the village of Buckden, 3 miles outside St Neots. It is a quiet, self-contained and fully accessible space. I offer face-to-face, online and telephone sessions during the day and some evenings. I also offer walk n' talk therapy if you prefer a less formal setting. If you would like to find out more, please get in touch - I offer a free, 15 minute, introductory chat by phone.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
