About me

Hi, I’m Sarah (she/her).

I am a person-centred counsellor who works online, and I am passionate about supporting people to recover, heal, grow, and live their best and most authentic lives. My services are offered low-cost.

Sometimes all we need is someone to listen to us, and to believe in us. Counselling can provide such a space, and this is powerful enough to change lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

I achieved my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in Glastonbury, so I am open-minded and can provide a psycho-spiritual approach if requested.

My professional experience includes working with adults struggling with various issues, both in-person and online, through counselling agencies. I now work in private practice as an online counsellor. I have worked with neurodivergent clients, and aim to create an accepting and safe space where individuals can unmask and be their authentic selves.

I also bring personal lived experience, which includes chronic illness, financial hardship, rebuilding identity, being othered, and surviving abuse, which deepens my empathy and ability to hold space for others. I am a committed LGBTQIA+ ally.

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP number 412761).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Before commencing counselling, we need to go through an initial assessment. This can take up to an hour, and is an opportunity to see if we can work well together. The initial assessment is free, and you are under no obligation to continue counselling following this. I am here to help you find the best support, and can signpost if required. If you would like to pursue counselling with me, each session is 50 minutes long. However, if you need longer or shorter sessions this can be discussed in the initial assessment.
