About me
Hello, I’m Sarah, a qualified counsellor offering in-person and online counselling from Cambridge and Hitchin.
I welcome people experiencing all sorts of challenges to my practice but have a particular interest in supporting people through personal and career transitions and with their workplace wellbeing
I work with adults of all ages and offer you a calm, discreet space where you can slow down, decompress and explore what’s on your mind.
People come to me with a broad range of issues, including but not limited to:
- Life transitions: adulting, parenthood, quarter- or mid-life crisis, empty nest syndrome, separation, divorce, relationship issues, menopause
- Career transitions: career change, promotion, redundancy, retirement
- Workplace issues: team dynamics, resolving conflict, bullying, remote working, mistakes at work
- Mental wellbeing: stress, anxiety, burnout, overthinking, impostor syndrome, confidence, motivation
As someone who has worked across sectors and navigated significant transitions in my own life, I appreciate how the challenges that life throws at us in addition to professional demands can shape, and sometimes strain, our wellbeing, identity and relationships.
What brings you here?
Maybe you're dealing with some changes in your personal or family life and finding the adjustment harder than you expected. Or perhaps your work has become stressful and overwhelming, your studies feel relentless, or your career has reached a crossroads and you're unsure of what's next.
Long hours, ongoing pressure, and changing circumstances can quietly take a toll on your mental health, leaving you feeling stressed, anxious, burnt out or unsure of yourself.
At times like these, it can be hard to step back, let alone ask for help.
If any of this sounds familiar, you don’t have to work through it alone.
How I can support you
In our sessions, you’ll find space to:
- Explore what’s been going on beneath the surface
- Better understand relationship dynamics
- Identify patterns that may be destructive or hold you back
- Develop healthier coping strategies
- Reconnect with your values and priorities
- Set clear, respectful boundaries
- Gain clarity on your next steps
I draw on a blend of therapeutic approaches to suit your needs, whether you’re dealing with a short-term crisis or exploring deeper, long-standing issues.
My aim is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to create a life that feels sustainable - both personally and professionally.
Where and how I work
I offer in-person sessions at 8AKP in central Cambridge CB2 (opposite King’s College) and from the William Collyn Centre in Girton, CB3.
From April 2026, I will be offering in-person sessions from Hitchin Counselling & Psychology Centre also.
Online appointments are available for clients anywhere in the UK at flexible times to fit around work or study commitments.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
It is important that you find the right counsellor for you, given that you may spend a number of hours talking with them.
For that reason, I offer a brief, no obligation chat for prospective clients so that you are able to find out if I am the right kind of counsellor for you.
Sessions will last 50 minutes.
Counselling can be open-ended. At a minimum, you would require 6 sessions.
