About me

I am clinically experienced in counselling and psychotherapy with children, youth. adolescent and adults, in the following areas: depression and anxiety, NHS/community acute and enduring mental health, family, parent and child issues, depression, panic disorder, anxiety, ocd, trauma, relationship issues, domestic abuse, occupational/life stress, addiction/substance abuse recovery, autistic spectrum/developmental delay, aspergers, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, learning issues, persons experiencing domestic violence, refugees, forensic, eating disorder and self harm.

As a practitioner I have been part of multidisciplinary teams and I am passionate about integrating and raising awareness of dance movement psychotherapy as an intervention of value. My approach is client centred, integrative, psychodynamic, relational and systemic.

I have also worked within the following psychotherapeutic models: humanistic/existential, psychoanalytical, psychodynamic, recovery, developmental, systemic, mindfulness.

My experience in counselling , therapy, dance movement psychotherapy and creative arts therapy includes work in: NHS mental health centres and hospitals both enduring and acute populations. I have pioneered and facilitated DMP work on an intensive care wards, forensic, therapy, education centres, early years centres, schools, charities and in private practice.

My MA thesis (2014) on depression, the body and gender, gained an outstanding credit.

In 2016 I undertook independent research into the impact on a therapist body of working with children of domestic violence, which I presented at the European Association of Dance Movement Therapy in Milan 2016. I was a member of the research working group for ADMPUK in 2016.

I lecture and am lead course convener in embodied practice and creative approaches in psychotherapy on a course for therapists in the southwest.

MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy – University of Roehampton, London (Distinction - Outstanding grade thesis submission on ‘Depression, the body and gender’ (Forthcoming Publication)
