UKCP,  am clinically experienced in counselling and psychotherapy with children, youth. adolescent and adults, in the following areas: depression and anxiety, NHS/community acute and enduring mental health, family, parent and child issues, depression, panic disorder, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, domestic abuse, occupational/life stress, addiction/substance abuse recovery, autistic spectrum/developmental delay, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, learning issues, persons experiencing domestic violence, refugees, forensic, eating disorder and self harm.

I hold NSPCC working with children and young people and online safety certificates, safeguarding, first aid and various cpd in online working and responses to covid19 and therapy.

As a practitioner I am part of multidisciplinary teams and I am passionate about integrating and raising awareness of dance movement psychotherapy as an intervention of value. My approach is client centred, integrative, psychodynamic, relational, systemic and Trauma Informed

I have also worked within the following psychotherapeutic models: humanistic/existential, psychoanalytical, psychodynamic, recovery, developmental and attachment, systemic, mindfulness, psychosomantic, mentalisation based therapy and ADHD Coaching.

My experience in counselling , psychotherapy, dance movement psychotherapy and creative arts therapy includes working in:

NHS mental health centres and hospitals both enduring and acute populations. I have pioneered and facilitated DMP work on an intensive care wards, forensic, therapy, education centres, early years centres, schools, charities and in private practice.

My MA (distinction) thesis (2014) on depression, the body and gender, gained an outstanding credit. And I was published last year with research in my field. In 2016 I undertook independent research into the impact on a therapist body of working with children of domestic violence, which I presented at the European Association of Dance Movement Therapy in Milan 2016. I was a member of the research working group for ADMPUK in 2016.

I have a long career, leading, convening and delivering: academic and practice based arts, health and wellbeing, embodied practice and creative approaches in psychotherapy.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

ADMP
Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP)

ADMP UK is the professional organisation for the profession for Dance Movement Psychotherapy in the United Kingdom.

They aim to support the development of DMP in the UK and internationally; foster communication among Dance Movement Psychotherapists (DMPs); and promote the use of DMP throughout the United Kingdom and abroad.

Additional information

The booking process and fees are: 

£70 for individual sessions- booked on a session by session basis ( 50 minute session) .

It is the client's responsibility to make sure payment is made by the end of the session at the latest. 

N.B Fees are negotiable for those in need, so please do not hesitate to ask if the above rates are over budget for you currently.

 * If a client wishes to attend any other than weekly or fortnightly e.g. every three weeks or monthly, the fee will change to £90 (for any thing over attending every two weeks). This is to enable others to access therapy services.
