About me

A qualified Integrative Counsellor and Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Sarah has experience working with various emotional and mental health needs.

Whether you find yourself in counselling for a specific issue you are currently facing, or you feel ready to explore some deeper rooted areas of your past in order to grow and heal, counselling can help. Our work will be led by you and I will create a safe and confidential space for you to do this.

The space I offer will be one of compassion and curiosity, allowing you the chance to reflect and become curious of yourself, leading you onto a journey of self growth and discovery.

I practice safely and ethically with all clients and I use a combined approach to psychotherapy in order to meet your needs. These may include; Psychodynamic models to explore childhoods and past experiences and how they impact you now; a Person Centred approach focusing on how you are feeling and your needs; and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for when there is a wish to make changes to your patterns of thinking/behaviour. I can also offer my expertise and skills in Health and Wellbeing Coaching using a humanistic approach to understanding what is important to you and understand the areas you are wanting to make change in.

I have experience in working with depression, self harm, anxiety, relationship problems, grief, anger, stress management, emotional disregulation… All of which can be better understood and managed if you allow yourself the space and time to reflect and consider your own mental health in a KIND and CURIOUS way. We can often feel defined by our mental health and as though there is no way out, stuck by the negative spirals our thoughts turn into.

I believe that counselling can help free us from these negative spirals and the rules we have unconsciously created for ourselves and remind us of the strength we all have within. I offer you a safe space to help find it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
