About me

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, working in both private practice and academia. When offering therapy, I strive to be non-judgmental, compassionate and warm. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where both you and I come together to mutually agree on your goals for therapy. I take special care to be aware of the intersections in our identities such as gender, ethnicity, race, sexuality, neurodivergence and ability levels. I also value being receptive to your needs and aim to help you navigate any difficulties you are experiencing and come out the other side.

In terms of therapeutic approaches, I work integratively with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) being my main modality. Other approaches that I often use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Systemic Therapy. As a psychologist, I am aware of the benefits of therapy as well as the limitations of science and psychological theories. As such, I approach theories with a critical and pragmatic stance, adapting my clinical work and keeping in mind your values, experiences, and wellbeing at all times.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Doctoral in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire as well as a Masters degree in Clinical & Health Psychology from Newcastle University. In private practice, I specialise in working with clients experiencing depression, sadness, anxiety, trauma, shame, bereavement, relationship difficulties and family strain. I am also experienced in working with clients with autism, ADHD and neurodivergence while my main areas of expertise are in working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD). I am also a published researcher in scientific journals regarding my affirmative research on the sexualities of trans and non-binary people.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
