About me

In these uncertain times I want to assure my clients I am taking extra precautions within my cabin to ensure all surfaces are disinfected regularly. I am still taking on new clients, provided you are well and not suffering with any of the COVID-19 symptoms I am happy to see you face-to-face, however I am also offering on-line or telephone sessions for any clients who are isolating or would prefer to use these methods at this moment in time. If you are feeling anxious please visit my website and hopefully you will find some useful information and links to other sites.

My name is Sam. I am passionate about people and helping them through difficult times, situations and problems life can throw their way.

Please see my website or below for a short introduction video.

I aim to offer a relationship in which you are free to be completely you and a space to feel safe, heard and accepted. Having been through therapy myself, I understand how daunting the process can be, it is not easy, I can support you every step of the way as we work together to try and achieve the peace, the acceptance or whatever it is you are striving for.

I have experience of working with young people 16+, cancer patients and their families as well as within a GP surgery. I can work with anxiety, depression, stress, family issues, feeling sad, separation, divorce, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, trauma, loneliness and most other issues we are faced with.

I am an integrative therapist, which means I have been professionally trained in a variety of counselling theories including but not limited to person centred, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This enables me to adapt to your needs and personalise each session to fit you.

I enjoy working in a creatively, at times and with your consent, may suggest using other techniques to help explore what is going on for you.

Please note I work with individuals aged 16yrs and above
I do not work with anyone under 16 or couples

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
