About me
Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big step, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is important. I offer a warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace.
I believe that every person has their own unique story, and therapy should never be about being told what to do. Instead, I work alongside you to help you understand yourself more deeply, make sense of your experiences and discover your own strengths and way forward.
I work with adults, children and young people, offering both face-to-face sessions from my private practice and online counselling across the UK. People come to therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, life changes, trauma, or simply because life feels overwhelming.
Alongside my general counselling work, I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including autistic people and those with ADHD. I understand that everyone's experience is different and aim to provide a space where you feel accepted, understood, and never judged.
Above all, I value creating a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion and authenticity. I know how important it is to feel heard, and my aim is to help you feel safe enough to explore whatever has brought you to therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within the BACP Ethical Framework.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over twenty years working within education, supporting children, young people and families in a variety of roles. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the emotional, social and practical challenges that people can face throughout different stages of life.
I continue to develop my practice through regular continuing professional development (CPD), professional supervision and specialist training. My ongoing training includes working with anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, safeguarding, children's mental health, autism, ADHD and relationship difficulties.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw on different evidence-based approaches to tailor therapy to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. I believe that every client deserves an approach that fits their unique needs and goals.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially if it is your first experience of counselling. My aim is to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and consider what you would like to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything straight away; we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
Whether you are looking for short-term support around a specific issue or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and experiences, we can work together to find an approach that feels helpful and meaningful.
If you have any questions before arranging a session, please feel free to get in touch. I am always happy to answer any queries and help you decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
