About me
Hi! My name is Sally and I am an Integrative Counsellor, meaning that I mix different approaches to best suit you. My chief aim is to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you so you feel heard and valued, self reflect, take risks where necessary and actualise positive change in a bid to be your authentic self.
Talking therapy works - it affords you the time and space to really hear who you are and how you feel, it allows you to understand, process, accept, forgive and if applicable, make peace and progress. Fixed ways of thinking or behaving can keep us repeatedly stuck in unhelpful cycles - 'saying it out loud' can move, free and reframe ingrained ways of being so we can start to feel, act and think differently.
I have a particular interest in Post Natal Depression/anxiety, Menopausal Transition, Generalised Anxiety, Self Esteem issues and Depression and am passionate about what I do. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story! Thank you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed a 3 year BACP accredited Integrative Counsellor HND Diploma which included a placement and 600 training hours. I now have my own practice which is secluded and private.
I continually update my personal development as a practitioner and have recently completed courses on Adverse Childhood Experiences and Managing Trauma. I am currently undertaking a diploma in Post Natal Depression.
I have worked as an Education Manager, Trainer and Teacher and have 4 young children.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
