About me

Welcome to my profile and I am glad you are here today.

I am an integrative-humanistic Dance Movement Psychotherapist with more than 10 years of experience in mental health in both NHS and non-NHS settings.

As a psychotherapist, some of the perspectives I draw from include dance/movement/body-oriented psychotherapy, person-centredness, relational intersubjectivity and interpersonal neurobiology.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the main vehicle that helps potent change in the therapeutic setting, more than any one specific therapy 'model' or school of thought, based on trust, mutual respect and guided by the individual's process.

I can work with or without a diagnosis, as I ultimately view the person as a holistic interrelated whole with all aspects of our experience (physical, emotional/psychological, sexual, cognitive, spiritual, sociocultural/systemic, environmental etc) having an impact on each other, within and with-out.

In my sessions, creative-expressive interventions (example, invitations to move in response to themes emerging or art/mark-making) take place in the context of an ongoing conversation. Such methods are not applied as prescriptions or a means to achieving an outcome but as explorations that form an integral part of an ongoing process of interaction between client and therapist.

I do not offer answers but a space to ponder and reflect on what you feel the need to bring, where you will always have a choice of what you wish to engage with.

Some issues I work with:

Anxiety
Depression & Low Mood
Low Self-Esteem
Loss and bereavement
Relationship/relational difficulties
Trauma arising from the past (e.g., adverse childhood experiences) or present, including exclusion experiences based on undiagnosed neurodivergence.
Spirituality and Identity (faith-based or otherwise)
Race/Cultural Intersectionality and Identity
Mind-Body/Psyche-Soma inter/dis-connectedness

I offer both long- and short-term therapy, over the telephone, remotely or in-person (based in North London).

I have enhanced DBS clearance and insurance covers my work as a DMP.

Upon receipt of an inquiry, I will proceed to arrange an uncharged initial phone conversation with you to find out more about you and what you are looking for in therapy, and for you to ask me any questions, and then make a decision together about how you would like to proceed. You are welcome to request a trial session (paid; fee to be discussed during phone call) to decide if working with me long(er)-term would offer you the best fit for what you're hoping to bring to therapy.
