About me
Welcome – I’m Romany
I am a qualified therapist dedicated to supporting children, teenagers, young adults, and families. Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling to make sense of your relationships, I am here to help you find a way through.
Since 2017, I have worked in diverse therapeutic settings, helping my clients build the self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence needed to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
A Space Built for You
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting.
My role is to offer a compassionate, safe space where you can slow things down, explore what’s going on for you, and move forward at a pace that feels completely right for you.
My work is grounded in Humanistic Therapy, meaning our relationship is the priority. I ensure every session is:
Confidential & Non-judgemental: You will always be heard and understood.
Tailored to You: While my core is humanistic, I draw on CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to meet your specific needs.
Services
I offer individual therapy and family support, available both in-person at my Golders Green, Mill Hill or Hendon practice and online.
Free Introductory Session: I offer a 25-minute consultation to discuss your goals and see how we can work together.
Weekly Sessions: Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly to ensure consistent support.
Training, qualifications & experience
- MBACP: I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
- BA (Hons): Undergraduate degree in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Nottingham.
- MSc: Master’s degree in Counselling Children and Young People from The University of Northampton.
I also hold a Level 2 DBT-A accreditation from The Association for Psychological Therapies.
Having spent many years as a school counsellor in both primary and secondary settings, I have a deep understanding of the unique pressures, identity transitions, and social challenges that young people face today.
Areas I commonly support include:
Anxiety, stress, and low mood
Emotional regulation and anger
Self-esteem and confidence
Family transitions (divorce/separation)
Friendship and relationship difficulties
Self-harm and safeguarding concerns
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
