About me
I am a qualified therapist and run my practice from my home. Experience has taught me that life can become overwhelming and difficulties hard to manage and endure. Seeking to turn things around need not be done alone. I warmly offer you the opportunity to work with me in a secure and safe environment to help find the changes you desire. Having time and space for yourself with someone alongside to listen at depth and without judgement, can be a unique and valuable experience.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I bring together different therapeutic approaches so that I can work with you sensitively and in a way that is helpful to you. I embrace a sense of holistic wellbeing and the connection between mind and body. Sometimes we may work with your past to give an understanding of how past relationships are influencing the present and to calm the effects of old traumas. Understanding what happens in the room, and between us, can be a vital part of your therapeutic journey so that positive change is possible and is experienced.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and a Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling Skills.
I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
I currently work privately.
I work both short and long term with adults of all ages and with a wide range of issues.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
