About me

Hi, I'm Riley. I work with individuals, couples and groups, offering a space where we can become curious about the emotional, thinking and behavioural patterns that shape your life. Together, we'll gently notice what happens moment by moment, especially when protective or critical parts of you take over. Rather than meeting these parts with judgement, we'll approach them with curiosity and compassion, creating a relationship where shame begins to loosen its grip. From there, therapy becomes a place to step outside familiar patterns and develop a more balanced, accepting relationship with yourself.

I believe that lasting change often begins not by trying to get rid of difficult thoughts or feelings, but by understanding them with curiosity and compassion. As we begin to understand what's driving these patterns, you'll have more freedom to respond in ways that feel aligned with the life you want to live.

If you’re unsure about starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute chat so we can see if it feels like a good fit. I’ll meet you where you’re at in your life right now, offering a safe and supportive space to explore what matters to you and find gentle ways forward together.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (SGS College, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College)
  •  Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills (SGS College, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (SGS College, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College)
  • Working Safely with OCD: A guide for humanistic, psychodynamic, and integrative Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and Psychologists. (The Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy)
  • Training: Certificate in Working with Couples (Cedar Therapy Institute)

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples and groups. In individual work, I am grounded in the person-centred model of therapy and integrate mindfulness and CBT, alongside a particular interest in Internal Family Systems and parts work.

In my couples work, I draw on systemic and psychodynamic approaches, with an understanding of attachment and how our earlier experiences and relationships can shape the way we relate to those closest to us. I am interested in the patterns couples can find themselves caught in, and the feelings and needs that can sit underneath conflict or disconnection.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where both partners can feel heard and understood. Alongside exploring the deeper dynamics within a relationship, I also use practical communication techniques, including structured listening and reflection exercises, to help couples slow difficult conversations down and experience what it is like to genuinely listen to and understand one another. My aim is to help couples develop greater awareness, compassion and connection, while creating space for meaningful and lasting change.
