About me

An Accredited psychotherapist and counsellor in London Bridge, Southwark. I have been a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) for over 10 years - I work with adults from all backgrounds from my consulting room close to London Bridge station and Borough underground station. I work in full time practice as a psychotherapist in both my private practice as well as being employed by a well regarded charity offering therapy in London.

How counselling can help?

I understand that deciding to seek therapy can be a daunting prospect. Yet therapy can also be an immensely rewarding and beneficial experience to help you understand your difficulties and facilitate change. Like many, you may not be sure what sort of support you need. If you are considering counselling or psychotherapy and would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

My work is with adults of all ages, offering short-term counselling and longer term, open-ended psychotherapy. I have many years experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy in different organisational settings. These include working for several years within an NHS psychotherapy department, a charity setting and within a university student counselling service. I have also worked with older adults in a charity, gaining considerable experience as a counsellor working with older people transitioning into retirement and facing issues concerned with ageing.

In my private practice, I have built considerable experience of working with 'millenials' who face some of the difficulties posed by modern life.

I am experienced in working with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Destructive patterns of behaviour and relationship problems
  • Feelings of emptiness and isolation
  • Difficulties at work or studying
  • Major life transitions and sudden change
  • Health problems
  • Loss and bereavement

This list is not exhaustive, if you think I may be able to help, please contact me.

I have extensive experience of working with people who feel 'stuck', isolated and those having difficulty feeling pleasure in some areas of their life - especially within their relationships. I have a particular interest in relationship problems and issues concerning male identity.

My consulting room offers a comfortable, confidential and secure space for you to explore your concerns and consider your options. It is easily accessible within the area of London Bridge, Borough and Elephant and Castle (Southwark) and also close to the City of London. My location is well connected and accessible for the majority of people in South East London.

Initial meeting:

This allows you time to explore your concerns with me, and for us to think about your needs. It will also give us the opportunity to see how we might work together and allow time for any questions you may have about the process of therapy and consider what other options may be appropriate for you before deciding to commit to meeting again. An initial meeting can help you gain a grasp of your of needs, collect your thoughts, and begin to understand what is troubling you.

Following an initial meeting, and having discussed your needs in depth, I may suggest short-term counselling or psychotherapy on an open-ended basis. It may be that we choose to schedule a few sessions in the first instance to think about your needs.

Sessions are held weekly, at the same time and location, and run for 50 minutes. I encourage you to bring whatever is on your mind to your sessions. This enables us to explore your concerns in a way that unfolds and allows for new understandings to be made.
