About me
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to explore my profile.
Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I encourage you to reach out via phone or email if you have any questions—I’m happy to help.
I am a qualified Psychotherapist with 17 years of experience, trained in an integrative approach that draws on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), TA (Transactional Analysis), Psychodynamic principles, and other modalities. My approach is always tailored to suit your individual style—whether you process through thinking, feeling, creativity, or problem-solving, we’ll work in a way that feels right for you.
I offer private counselling to individuals and organisations, with both short- and long-term treatment options available. I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. My experience also includes working within the NHS and Emergency Services, including occupational health settings. I continue to work with sports men and women at elite and professional level from across the Northeast.
You can find more details about the services I offer by clicking the link above to visit my website.
Common areas I work with include:
Depression and associated symptoms (including Seasonal Affective Disorder)
Anxiety (emotional, physical, and cognitive)
Relationship difficulties
Bereavement and loss
Work-related stress
Abuse and trauma
Self-esteem and confidence
Sports-related psychological support
Many people experience a combination of these issues, and therapy can help untangle and address them in a safe, supportive space.
Getting Started
I understand that reaching out to a counsellor for the first time can feel daunting. To help ease that process, I offer a free 30-minute consultation session. This gives you the opportunity to explore whether counselling is right for you, without any pressure or commitment.
Alternatively, I’m available for an informal initial phone call, where we can discuss your needs and how I work as a therapist. You can then decide if you'd like to move forward.
Fees and Availability
Sessions are charged from £50. They don’t need to be weekly and can be arranged to suit your schedule and needs. I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those in part-time work or currently unemployed—please contact me for details and availability.
Online and Telephone Counselling
Remote sessions are available and increasingly popular, both nationally and internationally. Feel free to get in touch to learn more about how this service works.

Sports Counselling:
Specialised treatment is also available to athletes and sports men and women.
We are seeing an increase in individual's within sport who suffer from psychological and emotional impairment. Depression and anxiety can be the result of their involvement in sport/competitions or personal issues: most often a combination of both.
As you are well aware this can not only have a significant impact upon performance but can prevent someone from achieving their full potential.
The therapeutic process can be tailored specifically to you and your sport to achieve not only a personal resolution but assist in sports performance. Interventions can be matched to current training schedules in addition to sessions being arranged to coincide with competitions to maximise effectiveness and progress.
If you are interested specialised services, you can again contact me directly for a free consultation to answer any question and discuss what needs can be addressed.
With this treatment it is possible for the organisation you are affiliated with to support you with fees. I am available to discuss this with the relative representatives to discuss how this service can be used.
