About me
My approach
I'm a kind and welcoming therapist, and I aim to build a relationship with you that, above all, feels safe and non-judgmental. I’ll listen to you carefully, ask questions about your experiences, and offer you different perspectives to consider. I take an open and exploratory approach and we can work together for as little or as long as you need.
My training is in integrative therapy, which means that I can draw on different ways of working, depending on your needs and preferences.
I believe that the difficulties we have in the present often have their roots in our past. If this is something that resonates with you, we have the option to explore your early life and attachments, and how this has shaped who you are today.
Issues I work with
I have experience working with clients from many different backgrounds, with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or low self-confidence, family or relationship issues and problems at work. If you're unsure about whether I can help, please get in touch and we can discuss this.
Location
I offer face-to-face sessions at my therapy room on Kingsland Road, Hackney, near Haggerston station. I also offer online sessions.
Getting in touch
If you'd like to find out more, I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone call. This is an opportunity for you to get an idea of what I’m like and ask any questions you might have. Please send me an email at counselling@reubenheller.co.uk to arrange this or if you want to find out more.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
