About me
I feel deeply passionate about empowering others to find a greater sense of security and self-understanding. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw upon a range models to tailor treatment according to the specific needs of each client. We are all unique individuals with our own unique life experiences and aspirations, I believe that therapy should reflect this uniqueness.
By creating a safe, compassionate, judgement-free environment, I invite you to express yourself authentically. Together we will explore your thoughts, feelings and life experiences, helping you build deeper self-awareness, autonomy and agency. In our sessions, I aim to stay attuned to your changing needs, ensuring the therapy consistently evolves with you. I believe that you know best what it is like to “walk in your shoes” and I strive to empower you on your journey of personal growth and self-development.
The primary therapeutic models that inform my work include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy / CBT → accessing and challenging unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviours to improve your psychological wellbeing and current circumstances
Person Centred Approach → creating a supportive, non-judgemental space for you to be you, so that you can grow in self awareness and move towards realising your full potential
Attachment Theory → exploring the role of early experiences, unconscious motivations, and the influence of relationships in shaping your behaviour and development
In therapy I believe it is important to acknowledge the impact of intersectionality on our lives, especially when working with people from minority communities. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ and POC individuals and am committed to providing an inclusive, affirming space for everyone. I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience working with people from all walks of life in a variety of situations and practices, including low-cost counselling services and an equality, diversity and inclusion services charity.
I work online & by phone. My clients appreciate the ease & flexibility of this as they can meet from the comfort of their preferred space.
To help you decide if we are a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can share your reasons for seeking therapy, ask questions, and get a feel for how we might work together. Please reach out by email to schedule a session or learn more.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a masters degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, from the University of Derby.
I have gained a great deal of experience working with people from all walks of life in a variety of situations and practices. However, my special interest is working with minority groups and I have expertise in counselling the LGBTQ+ community and people of colour living in the UK.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
- What to expect in our first interactions:
Our very first session will be an initial consultation that lasts for 15 mins. This is an opportunity for you to share what has brought you to therapy, ask me any questions you may have about my practice and get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you. I offer session for £20. It may also be helpful in this session to determine how long you would like to attend therapy for, it may be short-term (usually is 6 sessions is usually the minimum) or a long-term basis ranging up to open-ended.
Providing you feel comfortable to start working together, we can then arrange a session schedule. First sessions can be quite a daunting experience (especially if you’ve never had therapy before), but my style of therapy is all about being completely present with you; making sure you feel heard and at ease. After discussing the counselling contract together, we will then work at your pace to discuss in more detail about why you want therapy alongside what effects you hope therapy will have. This session is also an opportunity for me to begin to get to know you as an individual, so I may ask broader questions to add some context to what has shaped you into the person you are today, as well.
In the first few sessions I will likely take notes in order to not miss any important details but I am sensitive about this as to not distract from what you are sharing!
