About me

Welcome to my page, I am a  UKCP accredited Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.  I am passionate about providing a safe space for you to explore the issues which brought you here.  If you would like one-to-one counselling, do contact me. I offer one-hour sessions, ideally every week at a time to suit us both. In person in Ulverston or Lancaster, by phone, video link or in my woodland in Silverdale.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Manchester Gestalt Centre. Accredited by the UKCP Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Intersubjective Psychotherapy College (PCIPC)

I accredited with PCIPC in November 2023, and have over 6 years experience both as a trainee and since and now have many hundreds (900) client contact hours.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I see people online or outside in Silverdale on a Tuesday. In Ulverston on a Wednesday and in Lancaster on a Thursday.

Further information

I can offer outdoor therapy on my own private land in Silverdale. Working outdoors is something very special to me as I have worked for many years in woodland management, with a successful coppice business. The importance of trees and the natural environment cannot be underestimated as a powerful way to be grounded and support connection.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My Lancaster room is wheelchair accessible, but not my Ulverston room, sorry.
