About me
Whether you’re facing a current challenge, becoming aware of ongoing cycles, or want to explore and make sense of past experiences, I’m here to support you. I offer a non-judgmental space where you can speak openly about whatever is on your mind. Issues I commonly help with include anxiety, depression, low-self esteem, relationship issues, anger and stress management and trauma. I support my clients to understand patterns, build confidence, and create meaningful change. I also offer an inclusive space to help all couples improve communication and intimacy, resolve conflict, and strengthen connection.
My clients often tell me that therapy has helped them to:
Feel lighter and brought joy back into their lives, reduced their anxiety, helped them to feel more stable, and better equipped them to cope with life's challenges.
We all have our own unique story, and the therapy journey will naturally look a little different for everyone. In my experience, as we gently unpack what’s been buried, people often uncover strengths, insights, and resilience they didn’t realise they had. Whatever you’re going through, I will listen and stand alongside you so we can explore it together.
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I tailor therapy to you as an individual. Alongside my private practice, I also work as a counsellor for Mind. My work is grounded in an understanding that our past experiences and relationships can shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. I take time to get to know you and your unique story, working together at your pace to explore patterns, process experiences, and support meaningful change. Throughout our work, my aim is for you to feel empowered, respected, and more connected to yourself and your relationships.
Couples Therapy
It's common for couples to find themselves stuck in repetitive conflicts that feel like they never get resolved. Career shifts, family upheaval and the day to day challenges life throws at us can leave you and your partner feeling lost without a roadmap. Couples therapy is a valuable tool that can help you navigate challenges, reconnect and strengthen your relationship.
How Couples Therapy can help:
It provides a neutral, non-judgmental space to talk through your issues and is safe environment to talk about topics that feel un-safe or taboo.
I help Couples to:
Understand and work through patterns of conflict
Facilitate healthy, productive communication
Improve listening skills to promote connection and intimacy
Heal after a betrayal
Learn practical tools and strategies that will strengthen your relationship and put you and your partner back on the right track
If you’re curious about starting therapy, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and help you get a feel for how we might work together. I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I trained at the Northern Guild and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I currently work as a Counsellor at Mind alongside my private practice.
I draw on a range of approaches, including Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Jungian perspectives, alongside creative techniques such as imagery, metaphor, and working with dreams.
I also have several years of experience working as a mental health practitioner in the voluntary sector, where I have written and delivered courses and workshops to support adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including victims and survivors of domestic abuse. I am passionate about offering compassionate, supportive spaces and building collaborative relationships that restore survivors’ sense of safety, control, and empowerment.
Before training as a Counsellor, I spent many years as a practising artist. Creativity remains a vital part of who I am, and it continues to inform how I work, shaping the way I listen, reflect, and connect with people. My time spent in the creative community has brought me into contact with people from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and lifestyles. I have always been drawn to those who feel different, marginalised, or like they don’t quite fit in. I am deeply curious about the human experience and the many ways people make sense of their lives, relationships, and inner worlds.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
