About me

Life can be challenging at different times, and you reach a point where you feel you do not want to deal with it on your own- it can be helpful to talk to someone separate and impartial from other areas of your life. You may be feeling stuck, be in a conflicted state of mind, or having difficulties within yourself that keep coming up. I can offer a confidential space to listen to you and help explore things at your own pace, to gain insight into your unique situation and bring about understanding and changes that feel comfortable and right for you.

I support people who would like to work on:

·      Emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem.

·      Situational issues such as stress, grief, lack of direction and meaning.

·      Women’s issues such as societal pressures and life transitions such as marriage, menopause, and motherhood.

·      Trauma related issues including PTSD using IEMT (Integrative Eye Movement therapy) is rooted in neurology, psychology and cognitive science principles to develop healthier mental frameworks through eye movements and memory recall.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychologist which means I have the ability to draw on various theoretical approaches that will be best suited to you and your needs as they change. As an integrative therapist, I believe in being adaptable and tailoring sessions using psychodynamic, humanistic, attachment, relational and CBT modalities. I have experience working at the NHS, private clinics and charity where I have learnt that there is not just one way to work with people looking to better their personal growth, relationships and well-being.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
