About me

Hello, my name is Ray and I am a qualified Person-Centred Therapist based in Wolverhampton. My training has been with Wolverhampton LGBT+ who I still accept work from, during my time there I worked with clients who experienced, male domestic abuse, conversion therapy, anger issues, sexual identity issues, alcohol addiction, anxiety, grief and loss, and low self-esteem. I have also worked with clients struggling with , ADHD, Autism, family issues, and unacceptance.

I believe that we all have the ability to change and become the best version of ourselves and become the unique individuals that we are deep inside.

How counselling can help:

Counselling can provide you with a safe, confidential space so that you can talk openly about your problems and struggles without being judged. I believe I can connect with my clients' frames of reference, building honesty and trust and helping you explore their thoughts and feelings.

Let me help you explore your feelings, if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, domestic abuse (particularly if you’re a man experiencing abuse from a partner), low self-esteem, or just simply not being heard. I offer face-to-face or online therapy from a safe confidential space, giving you the chance to explore your feelings. I treat all my clients as unique individuals and tend to blend different counselling modalities to meet your needs. I am not here to judge, criticise, or make suggestions merely to guide you through the discovery of your true self.

What to expect in your first session.

The first step into the therapy room is a daunting prospect. You feel nervous and unsure about what to expect. Let me assure you I will be feeling nervous too. The first session gives you a chance to get to know me and ask me any questions you may have. I will ask you about your background and why you are seeking counselling and what goals you hope to achieve.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I adhere to their Code of Ethics for the benefit of both myself and my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
