About me

Life can be difficult at times for all of us and we can struggle to understand and get to grips with what we are thinking and feeling. As a qualified (Accredited member or the National Counselling Society) and experienced counsellor I offer you a safe and confidential space in which to talk about and explore what is troubling you.

My training in other-centered therapy allows me to deal with a wide range of issues for individuals and couples. I listen in a non-judgemental, empathic manner that is, I'm told by my clients, both compassionate and down to earth. I keep up-to-date with current trends, and attend regular courses and lectures that help me to help my clients. I never stop learning.

I am a husband, son, brother and father, and come from a large family. I understand the tensions that family life, as well as major traumatic events can bring. I work for educational, community, and business establishments and know the many stresses and strains that earning a living produces.

How I Work

I counsel individuals and couples of all ages in a quiet, comfortable room that is private and free from intrusion.

I offer many types of counselling that includes help with:

  • Marriage breakups
  • Couples
  • Relationship issues
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Family issues
  • Affairs and Betrayals
  • Separation and Divorce
  • Postnatal Depression
  • Panic Disorder
  • Anger Management
  • Abuse
  • Pre-nuptial counselling
  • Bereavement
  • Sexual issues
  • Low self-confidence
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Stress.

Why Choose Me

My training as a counsellor allows me to listen to you in a caring empathic way as one human being to another, recognising you for who you are. I care about your feelings and your experiences and will work alongside you to explore your hopes and aspirations.

I counsel in the daytime as well as evenings and will quickly find a slot for anyone who needs to see me urgently. Please feel free to ring me if you want to ask any questions, or email me and I will reply within 24 hours.

Why I Became A Counsellor

I started my career in counselling because I wanted to help others. Having been supported in this way myself, I know how wonderfully healing this process can be. Everyone has times in their lives when they face difficulties, become hurt and confused, and struggle to understand thoughts and feelings. Seeking the help of a professional can be the best route to recovering from mental anguish.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Psychotherapy
  • CRB Police Certificate
  • School Safe Certificate

My therapy skills in counselling include the use of mindfulness techniques, relaxation and breathing exercises.

As well as a private practice where I meet individuals and couples, I have also work in the NHS for clients with learning difficulties, on Employee Assistant Projects, and with pupils in  schools.
