I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I work from a psychoanalytic relational perspective, taking into account the importance of both psychological insight and the therapeutic relationship to facilitate psychic change.
I offer open ended psychoanalytic work providing a safe and supportive environment from where to explore and understand how meaningful past relational experiences and trauma might have contributed to present issues and to the way the present is perceived and approached.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including the NHS, the voluntary sector and privately. I have extensive experience in working with depression, anxiety, excessive anger and frustration, low self-worth and low self-esteem, relationship problems, sexuality, body image and identity issues, self-harming, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, career issues, midlife crisis, loss and bereavement, struggle with a lack of purpose and meaning.
