About me
As a licenced therapist in the UK with several years of professional experience in mental health and wellbeing I am dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges.
My expertise mainly centres around anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement and overcoming abuse. But therapy is about much more than just talking through your problems. It is about building a trusting relationship with a caring, attuned therapist who can help you discover new ways to navigate through problems, heal old wounds and transform your life.
Supporting numerous of clients over the years has been an immense privilege, and I am deeply passionate about working with people through the emotional impact of relationship struggles, anxiety, loss and trauma. Therapy has the power to heal, reconnect, and propel you towards a happier, more fulfilling life.
My clients often tell me that my warmth and empathy make the counselling process more comfortable and approachable. Sometimes all it takes is one person to believe in us when we can't believe in ourselves. Let's take that journey together.
I am registered with the BACP and abide by their ethical framework and code of conduct.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I'm Rachel, a qualified person-centred therapist, with a Masters in clinical counselling. I strongly believe in a person's capacity to navigate life's obstacles by drawing upon our personal experiences and capabilities. In my capacity as a person-centred therapist, I guide clients in exploring the subjects they choose to discuss during sessions, aiming to achieve a deeper understanding of their impact and encouraging positive change. I offer a safe space with an empathic, non-judgmental approach and never pressure anyone to delve into topics they find uncomfortable.
I acknowledge the potential apprehension associated with initiating therapy, especially with someone unfamiliar. To ease this process, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone/video consultation. This informal conversation allows me to learn more about your counselling expectations, ensuring that my skills align with your needs. It also provides you with the chance to gauge our potential collaboration, ask questions, and decide if you wish to proceed with an initial appointment.
