About me

I am an experienced, qualified, and accredited counsellor and psychodynamic supervisor in a wide range of both adult and child work, including having particular experience working with young people who are self harming and experience suicidal ideation or who have been in the care system. I am able to work dyadically with parent and child in DDP and trauma informed work, where required, and I am also qualified to work online or undertake telephone sessions.  I have significant experience in providing support and supervision to other professionals including student therapists in my employment and private practice. I have  a background as a health care professional and senior manager in the NHS and as a holistic therapist.

I am able to use a variety of modalities including talking, art and play therapies in my work with young people and families.

Face to face sessions are offered in a comfortable bespoke environment providing privacy, with on site parking. Remote sessions are offered via Zoom, Skype and telephone.

Weekday late afternoon and evening appointments are available, and regular slots will be provided for clients to meet their personal circumstances.

Please note that I am unable to offer school hours weekday appointments due to professional commitments with a local therapeutic organisation.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
