Psychodynamic Therapist, BACP registered

About me

I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults, both in person - in Deddington, Oxfordshire, and Jericho, Oxford - and online.

I am a psychodynamic therapist, which means we will explore how past and present meet in your emotional life, paying attention to how earlier relationships and experiences may have shaped how you feel, relate to others, and experience yourself today. Therapy offers a space to think together about difficulties that may feel hard to understand or change, gradually making sense of recurring patterns and aspects of your inner life that may previously have felt confusing or out of reach. I aim to offer a thoughtful, attentive space in which you can bring whatever feels present for you, at whatever pace feels right.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation, in person, online or by telephone, so that we can meet or talk to consider together whether working together feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained in psychodynamic practice at the University of Oxford, on a rigorous, BACP/UKCP accredited course combining personal, theoretical and clinical development. I am a full clinical member of the BACP and practise in accordance with its ethical framework, and I am currently undertaking further research (MSt) into psychodynamic practice at Oxford, which continues to deepen and inform my clinical work.

Alongside my psychotherapy training, I am also a fully qualified Craniosacral Therapist. While my therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, this background has given me a particular sensitivity to the connection between mind and body, and to how emotional experience is often held physically as well as psychologically. I bring this awareness into my work, believing that attending to both can offer a fuller, richer understanding of ourselves.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
