About Me & My Approach

Hello and welcome. My name is Pauline, and I am a registered BACP counsellor offering face-to-face therapy from a warm, private home-based setting in March.

I don't believe in rigid checklists or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, my practice is person-centred and integrative, meaning I tailor my therapeutic styles to match exactly what you need, moving entirely at your own pace.

Before building my private practice and working alongside NHS frameworks, my professional background was in dental nursing. This gave me a lifelong foundation in calming deeply nervous, anxious, or overwhelmed individuals who find it difficult to take that first step.

I have worked in Harley Street, London. This experience allowed me to work with an incredibly diverse range of international clients, creatives, and high-profile individuals navigating immense public and professional pressure. This background taught me the deepest values of absolute confidentiality, discretion, and versatile empathy.

How I can help you .Whether you are dealing with everyday stress,  anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or heavy grief, I am here to take the"mystery" out of therapy. I provide a trusted, confidential space where you are entirely in control.

I welcome you to get in touch for an informal chat to see how we can work together . I hope that after you have read my bio that you feel that I have reassured you and taken the mystery out of counselling.

I will help you make sense of why and what you’re feeling.. however if you cant explain or find the words then we will do it together and explore what you think you need…and that will help you achieve a happier 'You '

Counselling - what to expect working with me.
As your counsellor its important that you feel comfortable because this will help when we are working together and I will be able to help you understand what you maybe feeling, for instance does life feel a bit heavy right now..tired of doing it on your own ? I can help you achieve this by simply listening to you, it’s important isn’t that we feel listened too and  actually 'heard' !! Especially when our lives are busy and sometimes chaotic… I understand just how difficult and overwhelming life can be. As your therapist it’s important that you feel at ease and when working with me ,this helps for a nurturing relationship to develop and will help you achieve a successful outcome.

As your counsellor my aim is to help you find the answers that you may have been searching for, this can help develop a deeper self -awareness too. It may be the case that over time you may have you lost confidence in yourself - my promise is that you will always be treated with dignity, compassion and care.
As a therapist my approach brings a warm , down- to- earth approach to therapy with empathy ,honesty and occasional humour when appropriate and my clients have been grateful for ..
If any of this sounds like you , then you can send me an email and we can have a little chat …

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
