About me
Hello, you may be finding it difficult to cope at the moment and feeling overwhelmed and swamped by life's pressures. Perhaps you have suffered a loss, a trauma or are struggling to make sense of your present or past experiences. Does it feel like you have too many anxious thoughts on your mind and are finding it hard to prioritise or want to escape?
I can help by providing you with a safe, warm, understanding space. A time reserved just for you, to unravel your thoughts and take the weight off your shoulders, by sharing whatever is on your mind with me. I will help you explore your emotions and better understand your feelings and experiences in a non-judgmental way.
I am here to listen to your story, with empathy. We will work together to help you find peace of mind and a way forward.
If you would like to book a session with me, by phone, online or in person at my therapy room in Altrincham town centre or at Rosebank Wellbeing Centre in Northwich town centre or you have any questions, please contact me on 07464 264100 and I will aim to reply the same day.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a professionally qualified Person-centred Counsellor and registered with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
Alongside my private practice, I also volunteer as a counsellor with Age UK and have experience of working as a counsellor at Mind.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer weekday appointments from morning to early evening.
I work in person from my professional therapy room at Grosvenor House, Grafton Street in Altrincham town centre and I am happy to do home visits for housebound or elderly clients.
I also work remotely, via Zoom or on the telephone.
As a person-centred counsellor, our sessions will be centred on you and whatever you feel the need to talk about. I will not offer you advice or try to direct you, but give you the space to explore your feelings and help you to decide how best to move forward.
Attending regular sessions does provide the most positive effects, however, how long you attend therapy is entirely your decision.
