MBACP (Accred) Psychotherapist/Supervisor/EMDR Therapist

About me

Maybe life has changed for you recently and left you feeling insecure of what the future may hold or maybe you are unsure of what you want from therapy and it all feels like a big muddled mess!

I'm Paula, I help people just like you to try to make sense of what is going on in your life. Even if it all feels too much, together we can take a gentle look at what is happening so you have a better idea of what changes you would like to make for a brighter future for yourself.

Choosing therapy can be a positive and empowering step towards overcoming obstacles and allowing yourself to start to feel lighter and more at ease with yourself. One of the greatest joys in my work comes from seeing the change people make for themselves, I truly believe that with the right support and commitment, meaningful progress and healing are always possible.

If any of this resonates with you, your welcome to send me an email now or call or text on the number above leaving your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Let's begin and take that step forward together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a therapist for 16 years, in charitable organisations and my own private practice, I bring a person-centred approach with an integrative style of working and what that means for you is, I apply different therapeutic methods to suit your therapy needs. I’m also trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), which can help you process and reduce distress from traumatic or overwhelming memories such as those linked to PTSD, anxiety or phobias in a safe way, without having to relive them.

I offer therapy face to face , on line via video platform or on the phone

I offer EMDR therapy face to face or online via video platform

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

if you would like to know more,

I offer a free 20 minute no obligation telephone call, this is often a good starting point to ask any questions and share what you are hoping for, or simply talk through any expectations you have. During our call I can tell you a little about me and my therapy approach, what you can expect from your 1st session so you can feel comfortable in making the decision that feels right for you.

You may wish to share what has prompted you you to reach out and discuss any hopes or goals you have, even if you are feeling unsure of what you may need or why you are here right now that is ok too. The most important thing is that you have taken the first step towards making positive change for yourself and we can work to explore the rest together.

Sessions typically take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis, though can be adjusted to meet your needs and preferences.
