Life can sometimes leave us feeling unable to cope and in need of someone safe we can talk to.
By discussing our difficulties we can allow ourselves to make positive changes to move from where we are to where we would like to be, maybe you feel stuck, stressed or isolated...this is where counselling can help !
We can all be affected by events that have happened in our childhood which can then impact our present day relationships. This can then result in our lives becoming difficult to manage, leaving us with anxieties feeling helpless.
I am committed and experienced in supporting Individuals and Families coping with a recent or existing diagnosis of autism / learning disability.
I offer a professional, non-judgemental and confidential therapy service to both Individuals, couples and families at affordable rates starting with an initial session of 30-minutes that will provide you with the opportunity to talk about the difficulties you wish to work on in therapy, whilst allowing you to discuss any anxieties you may have and help you decide whether or not I am the right counsellor for you.
The areas of difficulties I have extensive experience of working within include:
abuse, trauma, childhood issues, anxiety, relationship problems, low self esteem, panic attacks, isolation, stress and anger management, depression, bereavement and loss.
I have 12 years experience of working with adults with all aspects of learning disability including aspergers, autistic spectrum, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, as well as there struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder.
I also have experience of working with those who have endured isolation and loneliness within relationships and family breakdowns.
Our initial session will include assessment of your therapy needs.
Sessions are priced at £35 per hour for Individuals and £50 per 90 mins for Couples. I also offer sessions for Students, single parents and those on low incomes at a reduced rate, which can be negotiated.
This can ensure you have the option of accessing counselling if you so wish.
I run my own private practice conveniently located in the centre of Stockport and easily accessible by public transport (walking distance of main bus routes and Stockport Train and Bus stations) and by Car with on-site parking available during session time.
