About me
You don’t have to go through it on your own.
Maybe you’re in pain and feel in a stuck place in your life or in a relationship.
Maybe you feel like you're playing the same scenes over and over and want something to shift, but don’t know where to start.
Whatever you’re going through I don’t believe in keeping calm and carrying on. If you feel something is a problem for you, then it is. And we can talk about it and see if I am someone best placed to help.

More You Counselling and Coaching
I am a qualified and Accredited counsellor working in Butler's Cross, just outside Wendover. I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis, and I abide by their professional codes of Ethics.
I help people with anxiety, stress, depression, issues of self-worth, bereavement, problems with weight, food, obsessive thoughts, problems with alcohol, addiction, trauma, grief, loss, redundancy, the loss of a relationship and life change.
I also offer coaching sessions for people who may need some help with goal setting in their life, relationships and work.
But this isn't about a list - this is about you. Whatever you're going through, you don’t have to go through it on your own.
I believe counselling is about taking control of who we are, so that we can be more fully ourselves in the world.

The first steps - meeting in person
We can have an initial talk on the phone which will take about 10-15 minutes and is free.
You can call, text or email me and we can take it from there.
Have a look at my website moreyoucounselling.co.uk to find out a little bit more about me and how I can help you.
I have an INfrequently Asked Questions page, for questions you might like the answers to but maybe didn't know you could ask. Questions like:
- 'Is counselling hard?'
- 'What are feelings for?'
- 'Do feelings hurt?'
- 'Can we change other people?'
If you are interested in psychotherapy or counselling in Aylesbury, Wendover, and Princes Risborough, I’m also easily reached from Amersham, High Wycombe, Great Missenden, Thame, Tring or any of the other surrounding towns and villages.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
What I believe about us and about counselling.
I believe as children we create a survival plan to get our needs met and keep our heads above water in the environments we grow up in. We create our own child-sized lifejacket survival plan of how to think, feel and behave with ourselves and others.
As we grow older the lifejacket may stay the same size and like an adult wearing a child's lifejacket we might feel restricted in our freedom of movement of how to be more us in the world.
I think counselling is about looking at your patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that work for you and the ones that don't work so well for you.
I think counselling is about us understanding more about your lifejacket. And in the safety of a non-judging, confidential, safe, therapeutic relationship, as and when feels right for you, taking it off now and again, stretching and feeling more you in the world.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling is slightly different to individual counselling. In couples work your relationship is the client. Together we'll look at your patterns of relating to each other that don't work so well for you anymore. Our work will be about understanding more about how your survival strategies might be interlocking with each other and what options you have to do it differently.
Couples counselling is about cleaner communication and about providing you with a safe, confidential space to more real with yourselves and each other, about what you both want from your relationship moving forward in your lives.
More You Counselling
I called my practice More You Counselling because that's what I think counselling is about. I think my work is to help you find more you available for you, the you that wants to grow, to be more you in the world.
If the time is right, please call me on 07804 350757 or email me. Whatever you're going through, you don’t have to go through it on your own.
