About me
Hello, I'm Patricia, a UKCP registered psychotherapist, EMDR therapist and clinical supervisor based on the south side of Glasgow. I have been working in private practice since 2013, and I currently have availability for new clients.
I offer EMDR therapy for adults, teenagers and young people; couples counselling and relationship therapy; individual psychotherapy for anxiety, trauma and depression; and clinical supervision for qualified therapists. Sessions are available face-to-face from my practice near Glasgow M77, Junction 3, and online across the UK.
If you are not sure whether therapy is right for you, or whether I am the right therapist for you, please get in touch. I offer a free initial conversation, by phone or online, so you can ask your questions and get a feel for how I work before you commit to anything.
EMDR Therapy For Trauma, Anxiety And Negative Beliefs
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for both adults and children - a qualification that requires specific additional training beyond standard EMDR certification.
EMDR is an evidence based therapy recommended by NICE and the World Health Organisation for trauma and PTSD. It works by helping the brain process distressing memories that have become stored in ways that continue to affect how we feel, think and behave in the present. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR does not require you to describe your experience in detail, which many clients find a relief.
I work with adults experiencing:
• Childhood trauma and adverse early experiences
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma (CPTSD)
• Traumatic bereavement and loss
• Anxiety, panic and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)
• Persistent negative beliefs about self-worth, safety or the world
• Relationship trauma and attachment wounds
• Distressing memories that continue to surface in everyday life
EMDR sessions are typically 90 minutes in length. We will always discuss your individual needs and timeline.
EMDR For Teenagers And Young People (13-17) and children 12 and below
I hold specialist EMDR certification for children and adolescents, a qualification that goes beyond standard EMDR training and is required by EMDR UK before a clinician can offer this therapy to young people under 13.
This is a specialist service and I know from experience that it can be difficult for parents in Glasgow to find a qualified EMDR therapist who has the specific training to work safely with young people. If your teenager is struggling with anxiety, trauma, difficult experiences at school, social pressures, social media anxiety or low self-esteem, EMDR can offer a gentle, effective route to processing what they have been carrying.
Young people often seek EMDR support for:
• Anxiety, social anxiety and school related stress
• Bullying and peer relationship difficulties
• Trauma following difficult or frightening experiences
• Traumatic bereavement and loss
• Persistent low mood, low self-worth or negative self-beliefs
• Social media stress and the pressure of online identity
I also hold additional training in children's play therapy (Level 4), which means I can use creative, non-verbal approaches when a teenager finds it difficult to put their experience into words.
I work with young people aged 13 and over and within EMDR, children 12 and below. All enquiries from parents are welcome, and I am happy to have an initial conversation with you before involving your young person to ensure the fit feels right.
Couples Counselling And Relationship Therapy - Glasgow And Online
Relationship difficulties can develop gradually or arrive suddenly and they rarely feel straightforward to navigate from the inside. I offer couples counselling both face to face on the south side of Glasgow and online across the UK.
Couples come to me at many different stages:
• Before marriage, to build a strong foundation and explore any unspoken differences
• Navigating conflict and communication breakdown
• Working through different parenting styles and family pressures
• Rebuilding trust and emotional connection after an affair or betrayal
• Managing the impact of stress, life transition or bereavement on a relationship
• Deciding together what the next chapter of the relationship looks like
My approach with couples is collaborative. My role is not to take sides, assign blame or tell you what to do. I help both partners feel heard, and I work with you to identify new ways of communicating and relating that serve both of you better.
Anxiety Therapy - Including A Personalised Treatment Programme
Anxiety can take many forms - constant worry, panic attacks, physical symptoms, sleep difficulties, difficulty concentrating or a persistent sense that something bad is about to happen. It can make everyday life feel exhausting and unpredictable.
Over many years of clinical work, I have developed a personalised anxiety treatment programme that begins where anxiety actually lives in the body. Rather than starting with thoughts and thinking patterns, I work first to stabilise and regulate the physical experience of anxiety and then move into exploring the beliefs and experiences that are driving it. This sequenced, body first approach means that clients are not trying to think their way out of anxiety before they have the physiological resources to do so.
Therapy will be paced entirely around your experience. You will never be pushed to explore anything before you feel ready.
Individual Counselling And Psychotherapy - Glasgow and Online
I also offer individual counselling and psychotherapy for a wide range of emotional difficulties, including:
• Depression and low mood
• Bereavement, loss and grief
• Self-esteem and self-worth difficulties
• Life transitions - retirement, separation, career change, parenthood
• Relationship difficulties - not just between couples, but with family, work or self
• Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unable to move forward
My therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centred - meaning that I draw on a range of modalities (including psychodynamic and transactional analysis) but always put your needs, your pace and your goals at the centre of our work together. I do not follow a rigid script. I follow you.
I also work with trainee therapists who are in therapy as part of their own training, a client group I find genuinely rewarding.
Clinical Supervision For Counsellors And Psychotherapists - Glasgow And Online
I am a qualified clinical supervisor offering supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. I hold a CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Supervision for Adult and Children's Counselling and Therapy.
I offer:
• Individual supervision – face to face (south side of Glasgow) and online
• Supervision for qualified practitioners working with complex presentations
• Group supervision (subject to demand)
My supervision style is warm, with boundaries and professionally rigorous. I draw on my own multi-modal clinical experience to support supervisees in developing their confidence, competence and ethical practice.
How I Work
My practice is warm, with boundaries and person led. What that means in practice:
• I take time at the beginning of our work to understand your full history and what has brought you to therapy, supporting us to determine the key areas to work on.
• I explain any intervention or approach I plan to use before we begin - you will always know what to expect and why.
• I invite you to tell me if anything I say or do feels uncomfortable. Your feedback shapes how we work.
• Therapy moves at your pace. I will never push you to explore anything before you feel ready.
• I offer a collegiate approach - working alongside you, not directing you. Many clients tell me that simply feeling heard, without judgement and without unsolicited advice, is itself a profound part of the healing.
My sessions take place in a discreet, private office on the south side of Glasgow with ample car parking nearby. I also offer online therapy via Zoom for clients across the UK.

Getting In Touch
If you are considering therapy, I would encourage you to make contact. Many people feel unsure whether their difficulties are 'serious enough' to warrant therapy, in my experience, if something is affecting your life, your relationships or your sense of yourself, that is reason enough.
Your first contact with me will be by phone or email. I offer a free initial conversation by telephone or online, where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to look for a therapist, and I can explain how I work and answer any questions you have. There is no pressure to commit to anything from that first conversation.
I look forward to hearing from you.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
