About me

Hi, I’m Oksana and I am a BACP registered counsellor based in Rothley, Leicestershire.

Life can come with a number of challenges and circumstances that can make you feel all kinds of different feelings, both emotional and physical. When you go through these times, you may want to talk things through with someone who will hear and understand things from your point of view, knowing all that you feel is valid.

Speaking with a counsellor will provide you with a safe space, where you will feel accepted and respected. A counsellor is someone who works alongside you to provide support, encouragement and is respectful of your values and choices; someone who helps you have the power to grow in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.

There are a number of different approaches to counselling, and I work as a person-centred counsellor, working within the ethical framework set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This approach puts you, the client, at the centre of our work together, where I will see things from your frame of reference, will remain genuine and accept all that you bring.

I currently work as a counsellor with young people and adults in face-to-face sessions, both for the short and long term. I have experience in working with people facing personal and relationship issues, stress and anxiety, illness, bereavement, depression, as well as physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
