BACP Person-Centred, GAD, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma

About me

Do you constantly overthink, feel on edge and snapping at your partner, kids, friends, co-workers then feel guilty? Or you feel the pressure to ''Keep everyone happy and together'' or ''Make it work'' no matter how this makes you feel? Maybe you are the one EVERYONE relies on but you feel exhausted? Or you simply struggle to relax or take a break even when you have time? Do you feel like your past pains and struggles are affecting your current and future life? Or feel lonely despite being surrounded by the people who matter to you?

Perhaps you are a young person feeling anxious about school or avoiding school? Or do find yourself shouting at your friends, parents or siblings and feeling sad or bad afterwards? Do you feel like living with Autism, ADHD, OCD affect your friendships, family relationships? Or you just worry about your future, have strong and overwhelming emotions you are struggling or not sure how to manage?

I am a qualified and insured BACP Registered Counsellor who supports young people and adults from different backgrounds, struggling with their Mental Health, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Low Self-Confidence, Low Self-Esteem and more.

Professional Background

For the past few years, I have helped young people find purpose and hope in life, improve their relationships, feel more relaxed going to school or even returning to school after school avoidance. I also supported adults in processing grief in a safe and liberating way; I helped them understand and reconnect with their True Self and heal using unique Person-Centred strategies.

I worked with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. I speak English, French and Mooré (a language spoken in some parts of West Africa). My multilingual and multi cultural backgrounds make it easier for me to connect with you in a way that makes you feel relaxed, valued, heard and understood.

I also work with clients, facilitating mixed gender Emotional Support Groups and as a Trauma-Informed Support Group Facilitator with Woman's Trust.  I support people in expressing themselves through creative writing, sharing their experiences, building confidence, learning healthy coping strategies and being kind to themselves.

Alongside my counselling duties, I work part time as a Volunteer Parent Partnership Support Officer in an educational setting; I support parent programme consultation and evaluation processes, strengthen parent communication, help parents navigate challenges together in their journey to raising future young leaders. This brings a formative and enriching experience to my practice and I am here to support more parents like you in finding space to offload, be yourself, process your thoughts and express your feelings in a safe and confidential space.

My experience working as a Teaching Assistant and School Counsellor gives me a deep understanding of young people's emotional well-being and their development. I will support your young person who struggles with Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence.

What to expect from me

I work face to face in very welcoming and soothing rooms. I also offer online and over the phone sessions. All sessions are confidential and non-judgmental. I will listen to you, and you fell heard and understood. I will support you in understanding your feelings, processing them safely, finding your sense of self, rebuild confidence and eventually heal and achieve your goals. Every session will be uniquely tailored to your needs and you will be at the centre of the therapy process.

Seeking help can feel difficult. I hear you. It can be hard to find the right person to talk to. Remember! Asking for help is one of the bravest things to do, the kindest and greatest gift you can give to yourself; it's a life saver. You don't have to do it alone. I am here to help you break barriers and heal.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
