Hello, my name is Nicola and I am a counsellor based in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Please note, I am currently fully booked and don't envisage having any spaces until the middle of November 2020.
COVID-19 UPDATE: Following Government guidelines due to the current situation with the coronavirus, I am now offering counselling via Zoom video conferencing or by telephone. If you are interested in arranging a time for us to speak, please call or email me and I will send you an information pack by email or post with all the details you need for us to start working together remotely.
I am also working outdoors in a local natural space and you can find out more information via my website under Outdoor Therapy.
You may not have had counselling before and so I hope this will give you an idea of what is involved. Counselling is an opportunity to discuss and work through difficult and painful issues that are troubling you. Counselling is not about judging you, telling you what you should do or giving out advice.
My role is to provide a quiet, private and supportive space where we can explore what is affecting you.
Counselling can help you gain a better understanding of difficulties you may be experiencing. Sometimes these can be triggered by situations you find yourself in or perhaps unconsciously you are setting up defence mechanisms that work against you.
I believe that the core of counselling is building a therapeutic relationship together. This relationship is built on honesty, trust and genuineness. Be assured that whatever you choose to talk about, I will never treat you differently or judge you.
Having counselling may not always be an easy experience but it can be immensely rewarding and beneficial.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
