About me

I am a qualified counsellor offering a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings safely. My approach is integrative  meaning I draw from several therapeutic models to build a trusting therapeutic relationship to support clients in gaining greater self-awareness, clarity, and emotional wellbeing.

I have a particular interest in working with women’s emotional wellbeing, especially in relation to relationship challenges and life transitions. This includes supporting those affected by coercive control, narcissistic abuse, divorce, menopause, and single parenting.

I also have an interest in cultural identity and the complexities of balancing different cultural expectations, including within intercultural relationships and family dynamics.

In addition, I work with children and young people, including those who are neurodiverse, adapting my approach to meet individual needs.

While I have particular interests in these areas, I welcome clients of all genders and backgrounds.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with professional training in counselling, alongside additional CPD to support my work with a range of client needs. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models and adapt how I work depending on each individual client.

While my core training is rooted in person-centred values, I tailor my approach to suit your needs, working in a way that feels most helpful and appropriate for you. I aim to build a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore your experiences at your own pace

I have experience working with a wide range of age groups, from young people aged 11+ through to older adults. I have supported clients with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, and life transitions.

I have worked within a school setting, supporting young people with challenges such as anxiety, friendship and peer relationship difficulties, bullying, and self-confidence. This has also included working with neurodiverse young people, including those with ADHD, and supporting children experiencing issues around belonging and self-worth.

In addition, I have worked within an agency supporting unpaid carers, where I gained experience working with individuals facing complex and often emotionally demanding circumstances. This has included supporting clients with the stresses of caring responsibilities, bereavement, end-of-life care, housing difficulties, and the challenges faced by asylum seekers and those navigating the immigration system.

I also have experience of working with diverse cultural backgrounds and understand the impact that culture, family expectations, and identity can have on emotional wellbeing. I have volunteered with a women’s empowerment charity in India, which further deepened my understanding of cultural influences and the challenges faced by women across different contexts.

Alongside my professional experience, I have a strong interest in supporting women’s emotional wellbeing, particularly in relation to relationship difficulties and life transitions. This includes working with those affected by coercive control and narcissistic abuse, as well as supporting individuals through experiences such as divorce, separation, and the challenges of single parenting.

I recognise the pressures many women face in trying to balance multiple roles, including career, family life, and personal expectations, and how this can impact self-worth, identity, and emotional wellbeing. I also understand how some individuals may feel unheard or overlooked within relationships or wider societal expectations, and I offer a space where these experiences can be explored safely and without judgement.

While I have a particular interest in these areas, I welcome clients of all genders and backgrounds, and I am equally open to supporting anyone experiencing similar challenges.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and continue to engage in further training to support my work.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

By booking a session, you agree to these terms. This helps me protect my time and ensures that I can continue to offer a consistent service to all clients.

Further information

I offer both online and face-to-face counselling sessions, depending on your preference and availability.

Online sessions are held via a secure platform, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space. Face-to-face sessions take place in a private and confidential setting, providing a calm and supportive environment for our work together.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis, although some flexibility can be discussed depending on individual needs.

I often suggest working in an initial block of six sessions, as this can provide a sense of consistency and allow us to build a strong therapeutic relationship. However, I understand that everyone’s needs are different, and I am happy to work in a more flexible, open-ended way if preferred.

I aim to provide a consistent, safe, and confidential space where you can talk openly and feel supported. My way of working is collaborative and led by you, focusing on what feels most important in each session.

If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation where we can discuss your needs and see if we feel like a good fit to work together.

If you decide to proceed, we would arrange a full counselling session, which is charged at my usual session rate. During this first session, we will complete an initial assessment, where I will gently gather some background information to help me understand your experiences and what you would like support with.
