About me
Welcome to Moor View Counselling: I'm Nick Roberts a integrative counsellor providing in-person counselling in South Devon and online. I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering a range of counselling options tailored to your individual needs and preferences. My aim is to make your counselling journey a unique experience .
Appointments can be face-to-face, either in a counselling room or outdoors, known as walk and talk, but if you prefer, I can work with you online. Each setting provides a unique space and atmosphere to support your personal growth and well-being. So whether you feel most at ease in a private room, walking outdoors or online, my aim is always the same - to help you feel connected, resilient, and empowered to become the person you want to be.
My approach:
As an integrative counsellor, I use a blend of counselling theories and methods to match your needs. Approaches, such as Person- Centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy and Mindfulness. You may also wish to use a range of creative techniques, such as drawing, journaling, sand tray work, poems and story to explore your feelings and to promote body awareness.
I have more than 25 years' worth of experience working in the social care sector and now work as a counsellor supporting people with a wide range of personal concerns, including:
Trauma / Anxiety and panic attacks / Depression / Low self-esteem and loss of confidence / Guilt and shame / Fear and anger / Loss and grief / Spirituality and beliefs / Body image / Eating disorders / Male fertility issues.
A bit about me:
I have lived in Devon and Cornwall all my life, growing up in the South Hams, which is the place I still call home today. I love being out in nature, whether I'm walking along the South West coastal path, wandering through woodlands, or simply sitting and listening to the birds in my garden. I deeply value the therapeutic qualities that time outdoors can bring.
I also value personal accountability, as it empowers me to take ownership of my life choices. I strive to be thoughtful, responsible, and respectful, acting kindly toward the planet by honouring and protecting the environment and all its living beings.
Life has not always been easy, and I believe my experiences have helped to strengthen my ability to understand others. My counselling approach is client-led and grounded in empathy, honesty and collaboration. My aim is to empower you to navigate life’s challenges, just as I have navigated my own.
