About me
How do you know if you need counselling and what is counselling?
We can all experience overwhelming feelings at times, maybe about our past, difficulties we are facing now or worries about the future. This can have a detrimental effect on us and have an emotional and behavioural impact.
If you can relate to this, counselling could be for you. I think of counselling as self care, investing in yourself.
I am a Person Centred Therapist. What this really means is that the sessions are all about you and what you want to bring. I will go at your pace and support you emotionally while you talk about what’s going on for you. I will go on part of your journey with you. Supporting you in exploring your feelings and understanding your feelings and yourself better.
Hopefully this will enable you to go on to live a more content life.
I specialise in working with clients who are suffering with anxiety. This includes panic attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and stress.
I also specialise in helping clients improve their self-esteem. I want to help you to increase confidence and to value yourself.
I really believe in the value of being truly listened to.
Life can feel overwhelming and I would like to help you to feel more content and happy.
I believe that we are all the expert on ourselves, only we know how it feels for us. I believe that by offering a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment to explore your feelings, can help you live a more content, satisfactory life. Apart from the first session where we have to do the paperwork and contract, all sessions after are just about you, to bring whatever is causing you difficulty. We will go at your pace.
Each session will be an hour long. After 50 minutes, I will close the session and allow time for us to check how you are feeling and ensure you are safe to leave the session. Counselling sessions can bring up strong emotions and it is important that we take time to feel these emotions and make sure you are happy and in a safe place to leave the session.
If you would like to work with me, please call on 07928 579396 or contact myself by email.
I am a registered BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) member and abide by their code of practice. I practice in an ethical manner; your best interests are at the heart of the counselling.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
