About me
I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 25 years experience working with individuals, couples and groups, 20 of those years in private practice. I have also worked in a range of settings including a University, Further Education college, GP practice and a hospice where I worked with both terminally ill patients and their carers. I am also one of the few Registered Imago Relationship Therapists in the north of England
I work online and face to face. I offer both daytime and evening appointments in a safe and professional setting providing both short and long term work.
I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, sexuality, self-esteem, confidence, loneliness, relationship problems, stress, mortality and search for meaning in life. I believe effective therapy is grounded in being as fully present as possible, having a good method, creativity, warmth, compassion, honesty and understanding.
I work with clients in the beautiful moorland village of Marsden in West Yorkshire, half way between Manchester and Leeds. I offer both outdoor and indoor therapy. My experience is that our relationship with nature can support our capacity to reflect on and integrate new experiences and new ways of being in the world.
Our initial meeting is an opportunity for you to tell me what you are looking for and for both of us to make an initial assessment as to whether we think we can work together. If it seems that you would work more effectively with another therapist I will be happy to make a referral.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
