I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 20 years experience working with individuals and couples, 15 of those years in private practice. I have also worked in a range of settings including a University, Further Education college, GP practice and a hospice where I worked with both terminally ill patients and their carers. I am also one of the few Registered Imago Relationship Therapists in the north of England
I work online, on the phone and face to face. I offer both daytime and evening appointments in a safe and professional setting providing both short and long term work.
I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, sexuality, self-esteem, confidence, loneliness, relationship problems, stress, mortality and search for meaning in life. I believe effective therapy is grounded in being as fully present as possible, having a good method, creativity, warmth, compassion, honesty and understanding.
I work with clients in the beautiful moorland village of Marsden in West Yorkshire and in Wilmslow in Cheshire which is adjacent to both the M56 and M60 in South Manchester. When working in Marsden I also offer outdoor therapy. My experience is that our relationship with nature can support our capacity to reflect on and integrate new experiences and new ways of being in the world.
Our initial meeting is an opportunity for you to tell me what you are looking for and for both of us to make an initial assessment as to whether we think we can work together. If it seems that you would work more effectively with another therapist I will be happy to make a referral.
