Nathan Ellison (PGDIP, BACP Registered, BSc)
You've took the step of looking for a counsellor, good job!
Things happen in life that catch us off guard, trauma, death of a loved one, diagnosis of an illness and more. You might pride yourself in being able to handle most of what life deals you. This feels different and it's impacting other things in your life. Whether it be your well-being, your relationships or your drive to get up in the morning. Maybe to cope your drinking or taking substances, maybe you self-harm or maybe you just can't talk to your loved ones about it. Sometimes it takes exploring the issues candidly without concern of being a burden, being judged or worried about.
What I offer
I support clients to share there feelings and inner thoughts. Exploring that sense of stuckness or feeling lost. I adjust my approach to you but my congruence is the bedrock of my work. Most importantly I help you through what challenges you, reaching the point where you can handle it moving forward. I currently work using traditional one to one counselling as well as walk and talk therapy.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
