Natasha Angell M.A., M.Sc. (Psych), B.A. (Hons), HCPC Reg. Art Psychotherapist.
I am a fully qualified and experienced art psychotherapist with HCPC, MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) registration. I currently work with individuals in private practice as well as for a charity group in Birmingham (BCAT) and Family Action.
I offer clinical supervision as well as art psychotherapy/counselling via telephone sessions, Skype sessions, email exchanges or one to one therapy at my private studio.
Training, qualifications & experience
Having worked in private practice as well as for various organisations since 2009 - including mental health services, NHS and charities, I have gained much experience in a broad sense and developed an eclectic approach as well as specialised in specific approaches, such as solution focused therapy or psychodynamic.
As an art psychotherapist my role is not to give advice but to proactively listen, support and provide a safe and non-judgemental space in which you can explore any difficulty that you may be experiencing; you may even choose to simply draw or paint etc as means to express yourself or communicate what is difficult to communicate in words. See http://www.baat.org for further information specifically on art therapy. The aim of therapy will depend on what it is that you are wanting to explore. This could be further clarified during initial assessment.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
