About me

Hello, I’m Narissa,

Many of the people who come to me are used to holding everything together for everyone else.

On the outside, they often appear capable, caring, thoughtful, and “fine.” But internally they may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, anxious, stuck, or unsure who they even are anymore.

Some are navigating major life transitions, relationship difficulties, burnout, menopause, grief, trauma, or late-diagnosed ADHD. Others simply know that something doesn’t feel right anymore and want a space where they can finally slow down, breathe, and be themselves without judgement.

People often tell me they feel at ease with me quickly. I bring a calm, grounded, compassionate presence into my work and create a space where you don’t need to mask, perform, or have everything figured out.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, meaning I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. Alongside therapeutic approaches, I also value reflection, self-understanding, nervous system awareness, creativity, intuition, and the deeper patterns that can shape our lives and relationships.

As someone who received a late ADHD diagnosis myself, I understand how exhausting it can be to spend years overthinking, people-pleasing, masking, over giving, or feeling emotionally “too much” for the world around you. Many of the people I work with describe themselves as highly sensitive, deeply empathic, or emotionally overwhelmed from constantly absorbing the needs and emotions of others.

Alongside being trauma-informed and integrative in my therapeutic approach, I also value intuition, self-awareness, nervous system healing, reflection, and understanding the deeper patterns that shape our lives and relationships.

Therapy with me is not about 'fixing' who you are - it is about helping you understand yourself more fully, reconnect with your needs, and create a life that feels more authentic, grounded, and emotionally sustainable.

People often tell me they feel safe, understood, and lighter after our sessions. My role is not to tell you who to be or give you all the answers, but to walk alongside you while you make sense of your experiences and move towards the 'version of yourself' you may have lost connection with along the  way.

If any of this resonates please feel free to reach out via text, phone or email and book an introductory call, to see if we would be a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework. I regularly attend supervision, training, and continued professional development to ensure my work remains safe, reflective, and responsive to the people I support.

My background combines counselling, mental health, wellbeing, trauma-informed practice, and neurodivergent awareness. Alongside formal therapeutic training, I also have an interest in the mind-body connection, emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and holistic approaches to wellbeing.

Qualifications & Professional Training

• Postgraduate Certification in Mental Health & Wellbeing Practice – Specialist Adult Mental Health
• CPCAB Level 5 Foundation Degree in Counselling
• Foundation Level in Working with Families and Systems

Additional training includes:

• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Training
• Solution Focused Therapy (SFT Essentials)
• Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP)
• Advanced Safeguarding Adults
• Working with suicidal clients and recognising abuse
• Autism awareness and understanding neurodivergence
• Counselling Young People
• Ethical practice, supervision, and outcome-focused approaches

I also hold additional training in EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Seichem energy healing, which inform my wider understanding of emotional wellbeing, although these are offered separately from counselling work where appropriate and desired by the client.

My approach is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where people feel emotionally safe, understood, and able to explore themselves without judgement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
