About me

I am trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Eye Movement Desenitization and Reprocessing Therapist (EMDR). CBT is a type of therapy that helps you to change your thinking and beliefs about yourself and the world. EMDR is a type of therapy that is used to successfully treat trauma, it can be used to treat general anxiety and depression too. I have a number of years’ experience working in the NHS and private sector. I work using compassion focused therapy principles with clients and devise treatment plans based on your individual needs.

I am a warm, empathic psychotherapist who strives to do the best for my clients. I am recognized by a number of health insurance companies such as Vitality, AXA and Aviva. I work with clients to maximize their strengths and to work together in order to get the best possible outcome. Session numbers on average are between 8-12 sessions. I will work with you to support you to be the best version of yourself. I have worked with various corporate companies which in turn has increased my experience working with people who are in high pressured work environments. I worked in the NHS for a number of years and developed my skills and knowledge base in supporting with people with long-term health conditions and empowering people to be their own therapist.

I have a current DBS and professional indemnity insurance.

Please feel free to get in touch if you need further information or would like to book your first appointment and get back on a track.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
