About us
At Mosaic Counselling, we are committed to providing accessible, affordable, quality counselling and emotional support to the local community.
Our mission is to eliminate all barriers faced by our community in accessing quality counselling, helping people to achieve emotional wellbeing and reach their full potential.
How can we help you?
Counselling provides a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space for you to talk about any challenges or difficulties you may be facing. You and your counsellor together will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself.
We offer affordable, weekly therapy for up to a year with our well-supervised, final year trainee counsellors both online and in person in St Albans town centre.
We think it’s important to match our counsellors specifically to your wants and needs - and with our diverse team, we are committed to a thorough initial assessment to ensure we do just that.
We are here for anyone 17+ experiencing issues related (but not limited) to:
Anxiety
Depression
Neurodiversity (Autism / ADHD)
Trauma
Stress
Life changes
Bereavement & loss
Relationship / Marriage / Family

Training, qualifications & experience
Our counsellors are well-supervised, final year trainees of The Albany Centre’s Diploma in Counselling, who have met strict criteria in order to see clients. They follow the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and have regular clinical supervision each month to ensure safe and professional practice.
If our trainee counsellors are not the best fit for you, we are able to signpost you to The Albany Centre practitioners, who are qualified and registered with professional bodies such as the BACP, or UKCP.
The service is managed and overseen by qualified, UKCP registered psychotherapists. To learn more about the team visit our website.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
