About me

Hi, I’m Mim (she/her). I’m a psychotherapist and counsellor based in the UK, currently working online.

I am passionate about therapy. I know the power of feeling heard, understood and the relief that we are not alone. Whether you decide to work with me or someone else - do reach out for support. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

My Approach

I use an integrative approach to therapy using a variety of techniques including: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

Our mental health is so important, it affects not just our mind but our bodies, as well as our emotions, and our relationships with others. It can feel overwhelming to choose to help yourself, but you are not alone. I can help you move forward with compassion for yourself and your experiences.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training and qualifications

After completing a BSc Psychology with Counselling degree, I worked in a variety of community settings in various roles, building sustainable projects with individuals and community groups, working in prisons and with the probation service, providing a mentoring service and volunteering with children and youth programmes as well as older-people focussed charities. This gave me the opportunity to work alongside a wider and more diverse group of people and develop my skills and passions further to provide hope, support and encouragement to people from all walks of life.

I completed my Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and set up my own counselling and psychotherapy service.

I have experience working with:

  • Relationship issues, stress, life transitions, family dynamics, depression, anxiety, self harm, anger, suicide and suicidal thoughts, trauma and sexual trauma.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

We also discuss the boundaries of therapy and what you can expect from working with me. You are under no obligation to work with me.

Cost of weekly counselling:

Sessions cost £55 for a weekly 50 minute session.

Sessions are currently online, at the same time and day every week. I offer counselling from Monday to Friday, during the daytime and evenings. However, if you work shift patterns I am happy to discuss a more flexible schedule.
