About me

My role as a therapist is to help you to understand yourself better in order to make lasting positive changes in your personal and professional life. I create a confidential and non-judgmental setting in which you can express your current and past difficulties freely. In doing so I will listen carefully to you and try to understand what is troubling you. I believe the relationship which develops between therapist and client is of great importance for change, through this I will aim to understand any ongoing patterns you may be stuck in and challenge you where needed. I provide you with undivided attention, helping you to express yourself and reflect on your situation. I work both on a short or longer term basis. I work with both international and UK based clients.

The Next Step

If you choose to take the step and begin therapy with me, we will arrange to have an initial consultation. This gives me the opportunity to understand your situation better and to assess whether I am able to help you or whether another service would be better suited. It is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you would feel comfortable working with me. During the assessment session we can discuss whether you want to work on a short or longer term basis, depending on what you feel is most helpful.

I believe in making therapy widely accessible, therefor I work both in person and online. I can be flexible with appointment times and can usually offer appointments with very little waiting time. You can arrange a day and time that suits you best. Sessions are usually once a week and last 50 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Experience

I have had specialist training allowing me to integrate different techniques into my work, meaning I am better able to get to the heart of your difficulties. I have provided effective therapy whilst working in the charity sector and with young adults in a higher education setting. I currently work within an NHS setting with older adults and with international clients through private work. My extensive experience has allowed me to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and I bring this knowledge and experience with me to the work we do together. I can provide help and experience with many problems, some of which include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Relationship problems
  • Trust issues
  • Gender and Sexuality
  • Work related problems
  • Ex pat life
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Low confidence
  • Family and cultural issues
  • Bereavement
  • Self-harm
  • Panic attacks
  • Eating disorders
  • Loss of direction
  • Anger issues
  • Addictions

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
