About me
Hello, I'm Millie.
Having overcome difficult times myself, I now help people explore their distress and find a better way forward for themselves.
As a registered counsellor I provide a safe and trusted space for people experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss as well as significant life changes.
I work in Alton, Odiham and on-line.
Finding a counsellor you click with is extremely important. To help you decide if I am the right person for you I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, so please contact me on 07557793237 or email me to arrange an initial call.
My own difficulties led me to volunteer at Samaritans and after five years I made the decision to leave the corporate world and train as a counsellor. I found my desire to help people identify what was causing them difficulty and discomfort, and support them in finding a positive way forward, was not only a natural fit for me but also hugely impactful for the people I was working with.
Because every human is unique, I don't believe in "one size fits all" therapy. I combine different therapeutic approaches depending on your situation and we adjust our focus as we go based on what helps you most.
As an integrative therapist I work with a blend of approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also believe in psycho-education which means I can help you understand your thought patterns and feelings which will allow you to help yourself beyond the counselling room.
