About us
We are Maureen Jones and Helen Dixon, both fully qualified professional counsellors.
Our Mid Surrey Counselling Practice provides supportive one to one counselling/therapy for adults. We are room based and online.
We offer lower cost fee rates where needed and flexible appointment patterns to suit busy lives. We are conveniently placed between Redhill/Reigate and Dorking. Parking is easy and free.

How we can help
With each of us, you can express yourself openly without worrying about being judged. We will help you to explore your concerns - whatever they are.
Perhaps you’re struggling with life, events or relationships and unable to face or make changes. You may be troubled by past experiences or by worrying behaviours or feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed. Sometimes, we can’t even pinpoint what’s wrong but just feel sad, or confused about what direction to take.
It's worth saying too that you don’t need to be distressed to benefit from talking to an objective professional - sometimes it just helps to talk things through.
We each offer both open ended and shorter term counselling in a supportive therapeutic relationship where you will find respect and acceptance whatever is affecting you.
Through our sessions, you will be able to develop a greater understanding about yourself and what might be holding you back from feeling more at ease with life and its challenges. We will support you to work things through and make more sense of your feelings and experiences.
We believe that our working together within a strong therapeutic relationship will help you to move forward (perhaps making changes if that's what you're seeking) and to feel better about the things that are troubling you now.
Training, qualifications & experience
We each have a Certificate in Counselling Skills and Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. This is supplemented by additional training, including short courses; and by mental health related experience, for example, in supporting self-help groups (including for hoarding and bi-polar).
We have past and current experience working at charitable/community based counselling practices, dealing with a wide range of issues, in both Sussex and Redhill.
Our counselling training and experience builds on our own diverse personal experiences of life and its problems. This includes earlier careers outside the counselling sector which brings further insights into our work as therapists.
Member organisations *

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
